The team announced the release of Ghostscript 9.56.1 with a couple of new features.
Ghostscript is an interpreter for the PostScript language used by many raster products across the world. It is one of the oldest applications in its category with more than 30 years of continuous development and support.
There are many products that use this technology to build useful tools because of Ghostscript’s powerful features such as rendering to raster and vector formats.
Thanks to its underlying programming language C, it supports almost all devices that require rendering that including Windows, Linux, Unix-based, macOS or any embedded systems.

Ghostscript 9.56.1 – What’s New
The latest release Ghostscript 9.56.1 enables the PDF interpreter by default and libgs is now threadsafe improving performance. In addition to that, the Photoshop Document output devices can export ICC profiles to the files, and Ghostscript 9.56.1 is now capable of exporting Apple Raster and URF image files which is a great addition to this application.
Moreover, this release adds the capability of exporting files as PDF with the Tessaract OCR engine. This particular feature makes it more feature-rich in the coming days.
